Peter in better times...
Today i was having lit lect test and the phone kept vibrating in my pocket. I was honestly very frightened and wanted to check it but i kept on writing my essay. The thought of death haunted me because i thought that something happened to my family. Turns out that my dad forgot his key and wanted to drop by school.
This wave of fury rushed through me. I was angry because he scared me, and partially angry that because of such a trivial matter, he could have just smsed me instead of calling-resulting in the lack of focus in my lect test. Gosh, please let me pass in man..
Then i went to college reception area to do work and went with loyee to starbucks to get JAVA CHIP mocha. We talked and sort of thrashed some stuff out. I hope that everything goes alright >< Always keep the faith, love!
And then my world came crashing down when i stepped into the house and my mom looked at me and said 'peter passed away'.
Immediately, i threw down my darn file and walked to the backyard. Tears started to form in my eyes as i saw my beloved rabbit lying sideways on the newspaper. He was so still and peaceful, he looked as if he was sleeping. As i knelt down and cried, with blurred vision, i touched his head (it was still relatively warm). I wanted to wail because i wasn't there when he died sleeping.
Then, i was forced to recall all the times when i confided in him when i had issues and how he would stay silent while i stroked his fur. All the insecurities i felt, i poured it out to him. Indeed, he is unresponsive.. but he sort of gave me the assurance that at least he was there to listen to me.
Then, i started to think on how he will not be there during my promos and more tears started to form. I knew that he was going to die, but i just can't register the thought because for the past 9 years or so, he's always there, pretty and elegant in his own way.
Death is inevitable and it sucks to witness it. My brother and i will give it a proper burial in the backyard and to peter: May you rest in peace, my awesome-silent-companion. I love you always. i love you.
